Jet Ski Explosion Leaves Man With Critical Injuries: Report
A jet ski exploded on Lake Norman in Mooresville Tuesday, sending a 59-year-old man to the hospital with traumatic injuries.

MOORESVILLE, NC — A 59-year-old man was transported by helicopter to a Charlotte hospital with critical injuries Tuesday after the jet ski he was riding on exploded, according to reports.
The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the waters of Lake Norman near Great Point Drive, which is north of Trump National Golf Club Charlotte, the Charlotte Observer reported.
According to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission, the man was attempting to crank the jet ski after he left a dock when it exploded. He was rescued by his son, who took him to shore, the newspaper said.

He was initially taken to Lake Norman Regional Medical Center but was later taken by helicopter to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte with traumatic injuries.
