Thunderstorms rolling through the Lake Norman region Wednesday evening led to dramatic cloud formations. Here are some Patch reader photos.
MOORESVILLE, NC — Thunderstorms rolling through the Charlotte metro and Lake Norman region Wednesday evening brought periods of torrential rain and gusty winds.
More rain is expected before the week’s up, say forecasters. The region could receive up to 2.5 inches of rainfall by Aug. 26, according to North Carolina Emergency Management.
Here are photos taken about two miles away from downtown Mooresville during the Aug. 21 thunderstorm by a Patch reader who noted that after the storm passed, there was a “beautiful but eerie" sunset:
