MOORESVILLE, NC — Thunderstorms rolling through the Charlotte metro and Lake Norman region Wednesday evening brought periods of torrential rain and gusty winds.

More rain is expected before the week’s up, say forecasters. The region could receive up to 2.5 inches of rainfall by Aug. 26, according to North Carolina Emergency Management.
