Local Elections Slated Nov. 5 In Iredell County: Ballot Details

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Municipal elections are right around the corner in Iredell County, which means you might have an opportunity to cast a vote for mayor, board of education of town commission, depending upon your voting district.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5, however, early voting begins Wednesday, Oct. 16. Don’t know where your polling site is or who is on the ballot? Don’t worry, Patch has you covered.

In Iredell County, voters will cast votes for open mayor and councilman or commissioner seats in Mooresville, Davidson, Love Valley, Harmony and Troutman. Three seats are up for grabs for the Mooresville Graded School District, and three council positions are open in Statesville, according to the Iredell County Board of Elections.

Key Dates

• Wednesday, Oct. 16 — Early voting begins
• Tuesday, Oct. 29 — Last day for absentee voting
• Friday, Nov. 1 — One-stop voting ends
• Tuesday, Nov. 5 — Election Day

One-Stop Early Voting is taking place at the Iredell County Board of Elections office, located at 203 Stockton Street in Statesville. Hours for One-Stop early voting are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., from Oct. 16 through Nov. 1.

Here are other details voters should know, according to Iredell election officials:

• Photo ID is not required for the 2019 Municipal Elections
• The Town of Love Valley is not allowing absentee by mail or one-stop early voting
• Voter registration and same-day voting are allowed during one-stop/early voting. The voter must present proof of current residence, which can include a N.C. driver’s license, a N.C. Identification card, or a utility bill, bank statement or paycheck stub.
