Lowe’s To Close Down 20 US, 31 Canadian Stores

MOORESVILLE, NC — Mooresville-based home improvement mega retailer Lowe’s will soon be shutting down 51 retail stores throughout the U.S. and Canada, it announced Monday morning.

“While decisions that impact our associates are never easy, the store closures are a necessary step in our strategic reassessment as we focus on building a stronger business,” Marvin R. Ellison, Lowe’s president and CEO, said in a statement.

The stores are expected to close by Feb. 1, 2019. No North Carolina Lowe’s locations will be closed, according to the company.
