Lowes Hiring More Than 4K Seasonal Workers In NC

The North Carolina-based home improvement retailer is going on a hiring spree, aiming to add 53,000 seasonal workers nationwide.

MOORESVILLE, NC -- Lowe’s home improvement is on a massive hiring spree, seeking more than 4,000 new workers in North Carolina as it adds 53,000 workers nationwide in time for spring.

The new jobs, which will range from full-time, part-time and seasonal, represent about a 22 percent increase to its current national workforce of 250,000 employees.

In North Carolina, Lowe’s said it would be adding 4,272 seasonal employees to its current workforce of 24,000 employees at its 112 stores.

Seasonal positions, which are in demand typically between March and September, include cashiers, lawn and garden associates, stockers, assemblers of outdoor products and loaders, Lowe’s said in a statement.

In addition to competitive pay, according the company, seasonal workers also receive a 10 percent discount on merchandise, flexible hours and the ability to see work schedules 17 days in advance.

Also as part of the hiring blitz, the company is also hiring part-time and full-time service and support managers, customer service associates, cashiers, stockers and sales specialists. Benefits for these position include health and wellness, incentive programs, 401(k), discounted stock purchase plan, tuition reimbursement, as well as flexible work schedules, according to the company.
