Man Arrested For Social Media Post Threatening To Shoot Police

MOORESVILLE, NC — A 44-year-old Mooresville man accused of posting a threat of violence against local police officers on social media has been arrested, according to the Mooresville Police Department.

"The Mooresville Police Department received information that threats of violence against officers were made on social media. An investigation was launched, and investigators confirmed threats involving violence with the use of a firearm had been made towards Mooresville Police Officers," MPD said in a statement Thursday morning.

According to police, Jade Tyson Brannon, 44, of Mooresville, admitted to writing and publishing the threats in the post.

Brannon was arrested for one count of Communicating Threats and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was issued a $3,000 secured bond by a magistrate.
