Man Wanted For Break-In, Bank Card Fraud In Iredell: Sheriff

STATESVILLE, NC — The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a man wanted for breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and stealing her bank cards.

According to ICSO, Maurice Dennard Jacobs, 26 and of Statesville, is wanted on warrants for felony breaking and entering, three counts of felony financial card theft, and two counts of felony identity theft.

Deputies first responded to the victim’s home in the 2600 block of Greenbriar Road in Statesville on Aug. 28, when she told them that her debit card had been stolen from her home and used to make an unauthorized $150 purchase.

“While detectives were investigating the larceny of the debit card the victim had the debit card replaced by the bank,” ICSO said.

About two weeks later, she was a victim of theft a second time, when her home was broken into and two debit cards stolen, authorities said. Investigators discovered that one of the debit cards was used shortly after the woman left her home, in an unauthorized $120 transaction at a local business.

“Detectives were able to identify the suspect as, Maurice Dennard Jacobs, the victim’s former boyfriend,” ICSO said.

The sheriff’s office has obtained warrants for Jacobs arrest and said anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Iredell/Statesville Crime Stoppers at 704- 662-1340 or the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at 704-878-3100.
