MLK Day 2019: Schedule Of Mooresville Events

On Jan. 21, the nation is honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who would have been 90 this year.

MOORESVILLE, NC — The life and legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. will be celebrated across the U.S. Monday, Jan. 21. Here is a list of events scheduled in Mooresville in honor of the holiday observance:

Monday, Jan. 21, 2019

  • MLK Jr., Unity Walk — 7:30 a.m. - 8:15 a.m., Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 North Main Street, Mooresville.
  • MLK Jr. Celebration Breakfast — 8:15 a.m. - 10:15 a.m., Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 North Main Street, Mooresville. This year’s keynote speaker is Lieutenant Colonel Sheree Briscoe of the Baltimore Police Department.
  • “Move Rosa Move!” Community Play — 10:15 a.m., Charles Mack Citizen Center, 215 North Main Street, Mooresville. “A unique perspective on the historical decision Rosa Parks made that sparked the Civil Rights Movement,” organizers said.
