Mooresville Burglar Stole Car From Neighbor, Dumped Items In Lake

Noah Elijah Courtney broke into his neighbor's home and two cars before stealing a third, according to the Iredell County Sheriff.

MOORESVILLE, NC — A Mooresville man was arrested after he burgled the home of a neighbor’s home across the street from his own in an affluent Lake Norman neighborhood, broke into two cars, stole a third and took beer from their boat’s refrigerator, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Darren Campbell, fingerprints and a prior arrest help identified Noah Elijah Courtney as the suspect behind the June 5 crime spree at 209 Waitsfield Court near the Trump National Golf Club Charlotte on Lake Norman.

Courtney’s address is in the 100 block of Milford Circle, according to authorities, and is across the street from the victim’s home.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to the home after the burglary was reported and found the stolen vehicle in a parking lot across the cove from the victim’s home, Campbell said in a statement.

Some of the items stolen from the home were also found thrown in the lake near where the suspect abandoned the stolen vehicle. Crime scene investigators were able to lift fingerprints from some of the stolen item recovered and identified Courtney as the suspect through the Automated Fingerprint Identification System.
