Mooresville, Davidson Make ‘Favorite Burgers’ List For Charlotte Region

CHARLOTTE, NC -- When it comes to grabbing a great burger in Charlotte, the Queen City has plenty of great options. Two of the best burgers, however, aren’t in the city at all, but near Lake Norman, according to The Charlotte Observer’s list of their favorite burgers in the region.

The newspaper ranked its favorite six burgers, “from low-end to high-end.”

Mooresville’s newest burger restaurant, The Barcelona Burger & Beer Garden, made the cut, coming in at #4. “It’s so new, they were still unpacking when we stopped in,” the newspaper said. “The room is huge, with lots of trestle tables. The hand-formed patty is very juicy, with plenty of browned crust, served on a potato bun with lettuce, tomato, onion, a thick layer of American cheese and their own special sauce, an orange/mayo mix with a little kick. The generous boat of fries are thin and crisp.”

The skillet burger from Kindred in Davidson also rounded out the concise list, coming in at #6. “Instead of fighting for a dinner reservation, go for lunch, when the Davidson hot spot is more laid back and the menu includes a really great burger you can’t get at night: Two square, juicy patties with cheese in between and a sesame seed bun that’s a twist on their signature warm milk bread,” the newspaper said.

1. Brooks’ Sandwich House -- Cheeseburger all the way with chili, mustard and onions.
2. Zack’s Hamburgers -- Zack’s Special
3. Mr. K’s-- The Big K
4. Barcelona Burger & Beer Garden -- Barcelona Classic
5. Bang Bang Burger -- Single cheeseburger
6. Kindred -- Skillet Burger
