Mooresville Graduate Named National Merit College-Sponsored Scholarship Winner

MOORESVILLE, NC -- The National Merit Scholarship Corporation named 13 North Carolina high school graduates as College-Sponsored Merit Scholarship winners Monday morning. Almost half of the students on the list announced July 17 were from the Queen City region. Five students on the list are from Charlotte and one is from Mooresville.

The awards represent scholarships between $500 to $2,000 a year, that will be given for up to four years of undergraduate studies at the school financing the scholarship.

The scholarships announced July 17 represent the latest round of National Merit Scholarships announced in 2017, representing a total of $32 million in scholarships awarded to about 7,500 students.

Below are the most recent College-sponsored Merit Scholarship winners from North Carolina, their hometown, and their high schools:
