Mooresville Man Arrested For Domestic Assault: Sheriff
John Marcus Lancaster was arrested and charged with assault by strangulation of a female, according to the Iredell Sheriff.

MOORESVILLE, NC — A domestic dispute ended with a Mooresville man in handcuffs and charges of assault by strangulation, according to Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell.
Sheriff deputies responded to a home in the 100 block of Honeysuckle Creek Loop in Mooresville Sept. 2, where a woman told them John Marcus Lancaster had become “angry with her about a business matter,” hit her several times with a closed fist in her head and began to choke her.
The victim, who fled to a neighbor’s house, told deputies that Lancaster took her cell phone to stop her from calling 911.

“The deputies noticed clearly visible marks on the victim’s neck,” Campbell said in a statement.
As deputies were speaking with Lancaster and attempting to put him under arrest, he slammed the door on the officers, and stayed in the home for about 10 minutes before surrendering.

Lancaster was taken into custody, transported to the Iredell County Detention Center and charged with felony assault by strangulation, misdemeanor assault on a female, misdemeanor interfere with emergency communications and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. No bond was set for his release.
