Mooresville Man Nabbed After Breaking Into Neighbor’s Camper
Christopher Zane Gibby was arrested and charged with stealing from his neighbor, according to the Iredell County Sheriff's Office.
MOORESVILLE, NC — A Mooresville man is facing multiple felony charges after he was caught breaking and entering by a neighbor, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
According to ICSO, the victims told deputies they were asleep in a camper located at 182 Pond View Lane in Mooresville the night of Aug. 9 when they woke up to find the suspect — identified as Christopher Zane Gibby, 25 — standing inside it.
Identifying the suspect wasn’t an issue for the victims. He was their neighbor and lived down the street.

Gibby was using the flashlight feature on his cell phone to look around the camper, the victims told authorities. When the owner confronted him, he bolted from the camper, running into nearby woods. The victims later determined that Gibby had entered the owner’s truck parked outside the camper, and took a set of keys, which he then used to unlock the camper door.
Responding deputies contacted Gibby by phone, but he refused to return to the scene. Two days later, on Aug. 11, he was taken into custody at his home on Pond View Lane without incident, ICSO said. He was charged with felony first degree burglary and felony break or enter a motor vehicle, and his secured bond was set at $150,000, ICSO said.
