Mooresville Named Among NC’s Best Suburbs To Live In New List

Mooresville was named as one of the best suburbs to live in North Carolina for 2019, according to a new set of rankings released by Niche. Mooresville was ranked as the 31st best suburb out of 181 to live in North Carolina and the 12th best suburb for young professionals in North Carolina.

The “Best Places to Live” rankings include cities, city neighborhoods and suburbs. Niche defines a place as a “non-rural town” with a population of 1,000 or more, including neighborhoods, suburbs and cities. Niche also separately ranked the best cities, neighborhoods and suburbs to live in.

Mooresville received an overall Niche grade of A. Here’s how Niche graded Mooresville in the following categories:

• Public Schools: A-
• Crime & Safety: B-
• Housing: B+
• Nightlife: B+
• Good for Families: A
• Diversity: A-

In Niche’s ranking of 181 communities across the Tar Heel State, Mooresville also ranked as the No. 31 suburb with the best public schools in North Carolina and the No. 34 best suburb to raise a family in North Carolina and the No. 47 suburb in the state when it comes to buying a house.

Niche released its “Best Places to Live” rankings on Monday. The publication says its goal is to “provide accurate, comparable and thorough evaluations of places.” Using data from government and private sources, Niche grades the places evaluated for the rankings on factors like public schools, crime and safety and housing.
