Mooresville Schools On A Two-Hour Delay Friday

School officials in Iredell County are delaying school Friday due to weather. Here's what you need to know.

MOORESVILLE, NC -- Schools in Mooresville and Iredell County will operate on a two-hour delay Friday, Jan. 5, school officials announced Thursday afternoon.

The delay was called for due to forecasted wind chill, Iredell-Statesville Schools said.

“According to the National Weather Service, Mooresville will be in a wind-chill advisory tomorrow morning with very cold temperatures expected and wind chill values falling to between zero and minus 5 degrees over night,” Mooresville Graded School District said in a statement.

“This delay will allow the sun to come up and temps to begin warming; however, it will still be chilly so please make sure your child is dressed warmly for the day,” MGSD said.

Prime Time activities will also operate on a two-hour delay and there will be no before school practices or activities, ISS said.
