National Night Out 2019: Mooresville Event Details
Mooresville Police Department is hosting a National Night Out event Aug. 6 downtown. Here's what you need to know.
MOORESVILLE, NC — On Tuesday, Aug. 6, police departments across the U.S., including Mooresville, will be holding "National Night Out" community events aimed at strengthening relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
For nearly 40 years, National Night Out events have been held across the U.S. Last year, an estimated 38 million residents in 16,000 communities were expected to participate, according to the organization.
In Mooresville, the town’s police department is teaming up with Target to host the event downtown on North Main Street. The event runs from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., and will include food, activities and raffles.

Free school supplies will also be handed out at the event while supplies last, according to the Mooresville Tribune.
Also on Aug. 6, the Eastern Heights Community Watch Inc. is holding a National Night Out event at Willow Valley Park on McLelland Avenue in Mooresville, the newspaper reported. That event begins at 6 p.m.
