NC Elementary Teacher Accidentally Killed By Gun In Purse
Madison Moore was killed by handgun in her purse when it fired inside a Kannapolis restaurant Saturday, according to reports.
A Rowan County elementary school teacher was killed while eating at Ruby Tuesday restaurant in Kannapolis Saturday after a handgun inside her purse fired a shot into her abdomen, according to reports.
Madison Moore, 28, of Landis, North Carolina was dining at the restaurant located at 2461 Wonder Drive in Kannapolis when the 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun in her purse fired around 7:20 p.m.
She was transported by medic to CMC Atrium Northeast, where police said she was later pronounced dead.

“The investigation is continue however the preliminary indications are the firearm belonged to the victim and the shooting was accidental,” Concord police said in a statement.
According to her obituary, Moore was a teacher at Knollwood Elementary in Salisbury. Her family have asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to provide school supplies for students at the school.

“Madison always had such a joy about her. She was undeniably selfless and kind with everyone, but especially her school students,” her obituary said.
Moore is survived by her husband, Craig Lee Moore and daughter Elysa Leigh Moore. Her funeral will be held June 14 at 11 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church in Monroe.
