New Assistant County Manager Named In Iredell County

Joseph Pierce will begin his new position as Iredell's Assistant County Manager Dec. 10, county officials said Thursday.

MOORESVILLE, NC — Joseph Pierce has been hired to serve as the new assistant county manager for Iredell County. He is the current town manager in Burgaw, North Carolina and is set to begin the new position Dec. 10, according to the county.

“I am honored to be given the chance to serve the citizens of Iredell County in this capacity and look forward to relocating with my wife and children and making a positive impact on the economy and the quality of life this community,” Pierce said in a statement.

Pierce holds a Master’s degree in public administration from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and a Master’s degree in management from Liberty University.

“Joseph will be an amazing asset to Iredell County,” County Manager Beth Jones said in a statement. “His passion for public service and his common sense approach will be a great addition to our team as we strive to ensure Iredell County is a premier place to live, work and raise a family.”
