Missing Iredell Man With Down Syndrome Located: Sheriff
Iredell County authorities asked for help locating Donald Morgan Malatesta, 50, who was last seen Wednesday morning near Troutman.

TROUTMAN, NC — A missing 50-year-old Iredell County man with Down syndrome who had been reported missing earlier Wednesday has been located.
Donald Morgan Malatesta, of Troutman, was reported missing after he was last seen Oct. 9 at 6 a.m. at 130 Meadowfall Lane, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office. By midday, he had been located.
Malatesta is described as 5-foot tall, and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, shorts of an unknown color and white socks. He may be using a walking cane.

The sheriff’s office deployed several patrol units, K-9 units, drones and lake patrol units in the area near State Park Road in Troutman, ICSO said.
Anyone with information about Malatesta’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at 704-878-3100.
