Rescue Crews Pull Body From Lake Norman During Search
Investigators are searching Lake Norman with drones and boats after a 911 call reporting a possible person in distress in the water.

MOORESVILLE, NC β A body was recovered from Lake Norman Tuesday evening, Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell confirmed.
Lake Norman area fire departments joined the Iredell County Sheriff's Office Tuesday afternoon to search the water after an emergency call was received alerting authorities to a possibly distressed swimmer.
According to Campbell, no foul play is suspected and an investigation is now underway.

Iredell County Sheriff Darren Campbell urged Mooresville-area residents to avoid Lake Norman near the Williamson Road bridge Tuesday evening while crews were investigating "a possibly missing person" in the area with drones and lake patrol boats.
"Earlier today a caller stated to emergency communications they may have observed a person in the water having difficulties," Campbell said in a statement, adding that an unattended vehicle had been found near the search area.
