A recent Iredell County kitchen inspection found an ice machine in need of cleaning and dirty kitchen items at Mooresville restaurants.
MOORESVILLE, NC — Perishable food kept at improper temperatures, food kept past its expiration date and an ice machine in need of cleaning were some of the infractions found during recent kitchen health inspections in Iredell County.

At The Black-Eye’d Pea Family Restaurant, an inspector found an employee touching ready-to-eat food with with their bare hands instead of wearing gloves, goat cheese past its expiration date, and rusty shelf racks in a walk-in cooler.
At Lotus Chinese Restaurant, an inspection found the ice machine needed cleaning. At Famous Toastery, shelves and kitchen equipment were found in need of cleaning, dishes were found stored wet and refrigerated items, such as egg salad, lettuce and boiled eggs, had to be discarded after they were found to be stored at an improper temperature.
