Sex Offender Wanted In Iredell County: Sheriff

MOORESVILLE, NC — The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help locating a man they say is wanted for failing to update his address for the sex offender registry. Michael Thomas Hiott is wanted for felony failure to report a new address to the sex offender registry as well as for an order for arrest for failure to appear on failure to report new address charge, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday.

According to the sheriff’s office, Hiott’s last known address was 154 Shanna Lane in Statesville.

“He has a lengthy history of assaults on Law Enforcement Officers and Assault with a Deadly Weapon,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

Law enforcement asks that anyone with information about Hiott’s whereabouts contact the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office at 704-878-3100.
