The gas station and convenience store Sheetz is hiring hundreds of employees across North Carolina this month as it expands nationwide, the company says. The chain needs to fill more than 300 job openings in the state and open interviews at its stores will start Wednesday, April 11.
Current Charlotte-metro area job openings include positions based in Hickory, Statesville, Troutman and Salisbury.
The Altoona, Pennsylvania-based chain was ranked No. 66 on the 2018 Fortune Best Companies to Work For list, and offers benefits that include 401(k) retirement plans, tuition assistance, adoption assistance and its employee stock ownership plan.

Sheetz operates more than 560 stores in six states. By fiscal year 2019, the company plans to operate 600 stores from North Carolina to Ohio.

Full- and part-time openings include store team members, supervisors, assistant managers and store managers. A store manager at Sheetz can make more than $76,000 plus benefits.

In 2017, Sheetz announced plans to hire 3,400 employees companywide, in addition to raising $150,000 for hurricane relief efforts. Sheetz also began offering ordering through Amazon Alexa, and was the first two-time winner of Convenience Store Decision's Chain of the Year, according to PRNewswire.
