Missing Iredell Woman Found, Is Safe: Sheriff

Barbara Ellen Holt was initially reported missing Wednesday morning but has been found safe, the sheriff's office said.

IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Hours after the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office asked for the community's help locating a missing Statesville woman who suffers from physical and mental health issues, the woman was found safe.

Barbara Ellen Holt was reported missing Wednesday after she was last seen around 8 a.m. Dec. 11 at a home in the 100 block of Fort Dobbs Road in Statesville.

Holt is described as 5-foot, 3-inches tall, 215 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. She has tattoos on both arms. One tattoo says “Kenny” and the other says, “Joe.”

She was last seen wearing green sweat pants and either a black or red sweater. She was also carrying bags and possibly a leopard print purse

“She is possibly headed towards Bluefield, West Virginia,” ICSO said.

By Wednesday evening, she had been located, said Sheriff Darren Campbell said in a social media post, adding, "Thank you everyone for your assistance."
