Silent Memorial Walk, Ceremony Planned Sept. 11 In Mooresville

A Sept. 11 silent memorial walk and wreath laying ceremony is planned in Downtown Mooresville this week.

MOORESVILLE, NC — A silent memorial walk and wreath laying ceremony honoring lives lost during the Sept. 11 terrorist attack is planned in Downtown Mooresville this week.

The event marks the 18th anniversary of the 2001 event that claimed nearly 3,000 lives in coordinated terrorist attacks in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania.

Here’s what Town of Mooresville and the Mooresville-Lake Norman Exchange Club say about the Sept. 11, 2019 event:

“The walk will begin at The Charles Mack Citizen Center, with participants lining up at 8:45 a.m. and walking toward the park at the corner of Main Street and McLelland Avenue at 9 a.m. A short wreath-laying ceremony will follow the walk, with remarks from Exchange Club members, Mayor Miles Atkins, Acting Mooresville Police Chief Ron Campurciani and Mooresville Fire-Rescue Chief Curt Deaton.”
