Suspect Nabbed After Cashing In Stolen Lottery Tickets

A suspect who broke into a Mooresville convenience store only took lottery tickets, which were later cashed in, ICSO said.

MOORESVILLE, NC — A Mooresville man was arrested and charged with a list of crimes including felony breaking and entering and cashing in stolen lottery tickets Monday following an after hours heist at a Mooresville convenience store, the sheriff’s office said.

According to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the store located at 2135 Charlotte Highway in Mooresville after someone broke into one of the front doors of the business. By the time authorities arrived, however, the suspect had fled the scene.

“The business owner arrived and informed deputies it appeared the only items missing were lottery tickets,” ICSO said.

Deputies identified the suspect as 36-year-old William Joseph Feldman based upon gathered evidence, and arrest warrants were obtained.

Monday, a deputy spotted Feldman on Charlotte Highway near Shinnville Road, and conducted a traffic stop. He was arrested and charged with felony breaking and entering; felony larceny after breaking and entering; and five counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense for cashing in the stolen lottery tickets.

Feldman was also issued a citation for driving while his license was revoked. His secured bond was set at $25,000, ICSO said.
