According to a report by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, the man suffered non life-threatening wounds after he was shot in the driveway of a home located in the 100 block of Damascus Church Road in Statesville around 8 p.m. March 10. Deputies interviewed a witness to the shooting, as well as the victim, and were told that the gunman was Joshua David Dalton, 19, of Statesville.
“The suspect was known to the victim and witness,” ICSO said in a statement. “The victim said Joshua was not welcome there, and he confronted him in the driveway and told him he had to leave. Dalton then pulled out a gun from inside his vehicle, and shot the victim once before fleeing the scene.”
