Things To Do In Mooresville On Super Bowl Weekend
Looking for things to do that don't involve watching the Patriots and Eagles? There are plenty of events throughout the weekend.

MOORESVILLE, NC βMaybe watching the Super Bowl isn't your thing, or you want something to do before the big game starts. Either way, you'll be looking for events to pass the time.
Even though the Super Bowl will dominate Sunday, there's still a variety of events to look forward to around Mooresville and the Charlotte-metro area this weekend.
Here are five events to check out in the area:

Feb. 3, 9 .m. - 2 p.m., NASCAR Technical Institute, 220 Byers Creek Rd., Mooresville

Watch 50 high school students from 20 area schools go head-to-head in a competition of automotive technology expertise, including hands on testing of vehicle parts, brakes, diagnostics and electrical systems. Winners will take home $59,000 in scholarships.
2. Kitten Bowl V -- Adoption Fair
Feb. 3, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Lake Norman Humane, 110 Robinson Rd., Mooresville
This live kitten bowl event will feature adoptable kittens, puppies, cats and dogs ready for adoption through Lake Norman Humane. You can preview adoptable pets and fill out an application here. Vendors will also be on hand, as well as hot dogs and a planned raffle.
3. Author Reading & Signing: Daisy Hernandez
Feb. 3, 5 p.m., Main Street Books, 126 S. Main St., Davidson
Join writer, feminist and social commentator Daisy Hernandez as she reads from A Cup of Water Under My Bed: A Memoir.
4. Mooresville Bluegrass
Feb. 3, 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., 684 Presbyterian Road, Mooresville
Hazy Ridge Bluegrass from Clemmons, N.C. will be picking at this free, family-friendly event.
5. Queen City Brewers Festival
Feb. 3, The Fillmore at AvidXchange Music Factory, 820 Hamilton St., Charlotte
This is the 7th year for the festival that brings together all of the Queen Cityβs brewers to one location. This event is also the annual winter fundraiser for ACEing Autism-Charlotte.
