Tip Leads To Arrest Of Mooresville Sex Offender
Tristan Wayne Murray was arrested Thursday after failing to register after leaving his Mooresville address, Iredell's sheriff said.

MOORESVILLE, NC — An Iredell County registered sex offender was arrested recently after the county’s sheriff’s office received a tip he moved from his Mooresville address without notifying officials.
Iredell County Sheriff’s Office’s sex offender verification unit received a tip May 3 that Tristan Wayne Murray was no longer living at his registering address at the Relax Inn, located at 344 South Main Street in Mooresville.
“Under North Carolina state law, a registered sex offender has three business days to come to the sheriff office and register a new address, in this matter Murray failed to do so,” Sheriff Darren Campbell said.

Murray was located Thursday, May 10 and arrested and charged for failing to update his address.
He was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, and his secured bond was set at $20,000.
