Tow Truck Stolen From Iredell County Business: Sheriff

The suspect broke into the locked tow truck before driving it off the lot. Authorities are also looking for a BMW seen on the scene, too.

STATESVILLE, NC — Authorities in Iredell County are asking for the public’s assistance locating a suspect wanted for the theft of a tow truck from a Statesville business last week.

According to Sheriff Darren Campbell, the theft occurred Jan. 7 around 9 p.m. at Castillo Auto Sales located on Jane Sowers Road in Statesville. The suspect gained entry into the truck, and sat it in for several minutes before driving it out of the parking lot, Campbell said.

The owner of the business told deputies that the 2004 Ford F-450 Tow Truck was locked at the time of the theft.

Also photographed in the parking lot at the time of the theft was a blue four-door BMW, Campbell said.
