Undercooked Chicken, ‘Soiled Spatulas’: Mooresville Inspections

MOORESVILLE, NC — Kitchen inspections at 10 Mooresville-area restaurants recently turned up a variety of violations, from “dirty and rusty” shelving to undercooked chicken and dirty bowls stored as clean.

An inspection at Great China II on June 11 turned up eight violations, including an open beverage can, cigarettes and a cell phone on a shelf over a prep area, “dirty and rusty” shelving and a screen door with holes in it on the back door. “Owner states it was damaged last night in a robbery,” the report said.

A June 12 inspection at Ten O’Clock Charlies found seven violations, including numerous areas of the kitchen that needed “thorough cleaning on a more frequent basis.”

Eight violations were found at O’Charley’s, including dirty bowls and a cutting board that were stored as clean and numerous pieces of kitchen equipment in need of repair.

At Golden Corral, an inspector caught 10 violations including an employee attempting to put undercooked chicken on the buffet, found two “visibly soiled spatulas” at a prep station
