Unregistered Sex Offender Bolts From Iredell Deputies
Unregistered sex offender Danielson Nichols led Iredell County Sheriff deputies on a foot chase before he surrendered.

MOORESVILLE, NC -- An unregistered sex offender bolted from Iredell County Sheriff deputies and led them on a foot chase before he eventually surrendered, the sheriff’s department said Wednesday.
The incident occurred after deputies with the Iredell County Sex Offender Unit arrived at a residence at 151 Quail Hill Drive in Mooresville to serve a warrant to Danielson Nichols for failure to register. When the deputies arrived, however, Nichols ran.
“A perimeter was set up in the area with the assistance of detectives and other deputies. After a short search of the area Nichols surrendered without incident,” the Sheriff’s office said in a statement.

According to the Sheriff’s office, he was placed on the registry after a 2016 conviction for indecent liberties with a minor.
Nichols has been charged with two counts of failure to register, resisting a public officer, and violation of pretrial release order, and was given a $30,000 secured bond. He has pending charges for habitual misdemeanor assault, assault on a female and probation violation.
