Veterans Day 2018: Events in Mooresville, Lake Norman, Charlotte
Mooresville, as well as other communities in the Lake Norman region, are hosting events for Veterans Day 2018. Here's a list.

MOORESVILLE, NC -- Veterans Day is a time for Americans to honor and thank those who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Veterans Day is Sunday, Nov. 11 and observed as a federal holiday on Monday, Nov. 12. Many cities and towns, such as Mooresville, are honoring their local servicemen and women with celebrations, parades, banquets, and more leading up to the holiday.
Here is the schedule of 2018 Veterans Day events in Mooresville:
Saturday, Nov. 10
- Home for Our Heroes 5K — 134 Talbert Pointe Drive, Mooresville. 9 a.m.
- One Nation Under God Luncheon — Coddle Creek ARP, 2297 Coddle Creek Highway, Mooresville, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- Veterans Celebration Cruise In — Classic car cruise-in, food trucks & live music by The Catalinas. Broad Street, Mooresville. Festivities begin at noon.
Sunday, Nov. 11

- Glenwood Park Memorial Ceremony — 273 Glenwood Drive, Mooresville. 11 a.m.
- Veterans Parade — Downtown Mooresville, 2 p.m.

- The town of Davidson will hold its Veterans Day event Monday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Davidson College Presbyterian Church Congregation House, located at 2128 Concord Road.
- Cornelius' Veterans Day Celebration will honor military veterans and current service members in a program at the Cornelius Veterans Monument at Rotary Plaza. Saturday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m.
- Huntersville has a day of activities planned to commemorate Veterans Day on Saturday, Nov. 10, beginning with the Huntersville Veterans Day Parade at 10 a.m. downtown, with a ceremony to follow promptly at 11 a.m. Festivities also include live music and free activities, such as balloon twisting, Bounce Boot Camp, airbrush tattoos and card making for veterans, from 9 a.m. until noon. - Charlotte's Salute to Veterans Parade on Saturday, Nov. 10 will feature local middle and high school bands, as well as Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC), active military units and veterans organizations.
