In Wake Of Mass Shootings, Sheriff Offers Active Shooter Class

The sheriff's office is offering a free active shooter training course Saturday, March 30. Here's how you can claim a spot.

MOORESVILLE, NC — In the wake of recent mass shootings, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office is offering an active shooter training class, it said Wednesday.

“In light of recent events such, as the mass shootings in Aurora, Illinois, the Orland [Square] Mall, and near Penn State University, where multiple innocent people were killed or wounded, the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office wants you to be as prepared as possible, and know what actions to take if you are confronted with a similar situation,” ICSO said. “We want to be prepared, and proactive rather than reactive in giving you this information.”

The class is free and will be held Saturday, March 30 from 9:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Iredell County Agriculture Extension building, located at 444 Bristol Drive in Statesville.
