Whit-Miller’s Closing, Live Music: This Weekend In Mooresville
It's the last weekend of 2018 and there's plenty to do around Mooresville as you prep for ringing in the new year, starting with live music.

MOORESVILLE, NC — It's the last weekend of 2018 and there’s plenty going on around Mooresville before kicking off celebrations for the new year. There will be live music at Eddie’s, an open mic at Bacchus Wine & Tapas, and a chance to see Whit-Miller’s Shoe Store and Repair one last time before it closes up for good after more than 90 years on Main Street.
Here are our picks of the top five things to check out in Mooresville this weekend:
- StellaRising Duo at Eddie’s on Lake Norman — Friday, Dec. 28, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., Eddie’s on Lake Norman, 643 Williamson Road, Mooresville.
- Whit-Miller’s Shoe Store Closing — Saturday, Dec. 29, 8 a.m. - Noon, Whit-Miller’s Shoe Store and Repair, 122 N. Main Street, Mooresville. After nearly 100 years, the shoe store is closing up its Main Street location.
- Happy New Year Open Mic — Saturday, Dec. 29, 7 p.m., Bacchus Wine & Tapas, 138 Village View Drive, Suite 107, Mooresville.
- Goodnight Brothers Band at The High Street Briar — Saturday, Dec. 29, 9 p.m. - 2 a.m., The High Street Briar, 166 N. Main Street, Mooresville.
- Farewell 2018 at King Canary — Sunday, Dec. 30, 1 p.m., King Canary Brewing Company, 562 Williamson Road, Mooresville.
