Winter Weather Headed To Mooresville: Weekend Forecast

MOORESVILLE, NC — Wintery weather from sleet and freezing rain to possibly even snow will be headed into the Charlotte-metro and Lake Norman region this weekend, according to forecasters.

Between now and Saturday, however, conditions will be pleasant, with sunny skies and temperatures reaching near 50 degrees and overnight lows in the mid 30s.

“A strong coastal low pressure system will likely bring periods of moderate to heavy rain and wintry precipitation to the area this weekend, possibly continuing into early next week,” the National Weather Service said in a hazardous weather bulletin Wednesday morning. “Snow and ice accumulations are most likely across the mountains, foothills and northwest Piedmont of North Carolina, but possible elsewhere, especially along and north of I-85.”
