A 36-year-old woman was arrested and charged with felony assault after she stabbed a man in the stomach during a verbal argument, according to the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office.
ICSO was called to a Statesville home on Tarrington Drive on Dec. 23 following a report of a domestic assault. Responding deputies found that Kimberly Michelle Hobbs had attacked a male inside the home.
“The argument and the assault occurred in front of a minor child who resided at the residence as well,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The victim was treated at a local hospital and released.
Hobbs was taken into custody and transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where she was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor assault in the presence of a minor.

No bond was sent and Hobbs was placed under a domestic hold by the magistrate, the sheriff’s office said.
