Charlotte Police Charge 17-Year-Old In Plaza Midwood Sex Assault Case

Charlotte police have charged a 17-year-old for the sexual assault of a Plaza Midwood woman last month as she watered flowers in her yard.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- A 17-year-old male has been formerly charged for an attempted sexual assault of a woman watering flowers in the yard of her Plaza Midwood home last month.

The 34-year-old woman was in her yard on Norcross Place around 7:45 a.m. Sept. 19 when she was approached by a man who said he was looking for his lost dog, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said. She told police that it was when she turned her back while speaking with him that he grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her.

Following the attack, Charlotte police obtained a warrant for Jordan Maddalon, who Tuesday they identified as the suspect. Charges for Maddalon had been delayed until he was released from a medical facility evaluation, CMPD said at the time.
