Police Nab Suspect Wanted For 2 Armed Robberies

Kodi Woodley, 39, was arrested and charged with armed robbery of a convenience store and grocery store, police said Wednesday.

CHARLOTTE, NC — A 39-year-old suspect wanted for armed robbery is behind bars, charged for recent heists at a Charlotte area convenience store and Harris Teeter, Charlotte police said Wednesday.

Officers received a tip Tuesday that the man wanted in Circle K armed robbery last week who was photographed by store surveillance was in the 900 block of North College Street in Charlotte.

Officers engaged the suspect, who has been identified as Kodi Woodley, and determined he matched the description of the man wanted for the July 13 robbery of the convenience store.

According to a police report issued at the time, a robber entered the store and threatened to shoot a store clerk as he grabbed cash from the register around 1 a.m. at the Circle K store located at 701 N. Graham Street. After grabbing the cash, the male suspect ran from the store in the direction of West 10th Street, CMPD said.

Woodley was arrested July 17 and taken to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department headquarters for questioning, during which time detectives determined he was also the suspect wanted for the July 10 robbery at Harris Teeter located at 325 W. 6th Street.

Woodley was charged with two counts of common law robbery and transferred to the Mecklenburg County Sherriff’s Office, CMPD said.
