Sex Assault Suspect On The Run: CMPD

An 18-year-old wanted for multiple sex crimes is on the run after he cut off his court-ordered monitor, according to Charlotte Police.

CHARLOTTE, NC -- An 18-year-old man awaiting trial for multiple sex crimes is on the run after cutting off his court-ordered monitor over the weekend.

Jordan Shelley Maddalon, who is wanted for second degree sex offense and sexual battery, cut off his monitor Feb. 3 and was last known to be in the area of 5800 Lake Forest Drive in Charlotte.

Maddalon was formerly charged for the crimes in October after an attempted assault on a woman watering flowers in the front yard of her Plaza Midwood home.

The 34-year-old woman was in her yard on Norcross Place around 7:45 a.m. Sept. 19, 2017 when she was approached by a man who said he was looking for his lost dog, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said. She told police that it was when she turned her back while speaking with him that he grabbed her and attempted to sexually assault her.

Following the attack, Charlotte police obtained a warrant for Maddalon, who they later identified as the suspect in October 2017. Charges for Maddalon had been delayed until he was released from a medical facility evaluation, CMPD said at the time.
