While big chains can absorb fluctuating margins, small local pharmacies must carefully weigh inventory costs, staffing, and pharmacy benefit manager contracts before committing to doses residents may rely on.
2. Power Design Uses Wearable Cameras on Construction Sites (constructionowners.com) — A major new high-rise apartment project called The Strand in Raleigh is being documented using Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, giving a first-person view of construction progress. Power Design's "Field Feed" initiative shows how crews handle electrical, mechanical, safety, and energy systems on-site, offering unusual behind-the-scenes access to a large local residential development.
3. NC By Train launches free transit connection program for rail passengers (abc11.com) — Raleigh rail passengers will soon be able to ride local transit for free when they travel NC By Train between Raleigh and Charlotte using the new Rail& Ride pass. By adding a code to your ticket and redeeming it in partner transit apps, you can connect to buses or light rail at corridor stops without extra cost or parking hassles.
4. Joby Aviation completed a fully autonomous flight from California to North Carolina (engadget.com) — Raleigh is slated as one of the upcoming pit stops as Joby Aviation's autonomous Cessna flies back west after completing a cross-country trip from California to North Carolina. The fully self-flying test flight, monitored remotely and by an onboard safety pilot, showcases technology that could eventually support freight, emergency response, and defense logistics nationwide.
