• Woman charged after deputies report finding heroin at judicial center parking area (yourdailyjournal.com) — Deputies say they caught a 26-year-old Asheboro woman using drugs in a vehicle at the Richmond County Judicial Center parking area in Rockingham, then found syringes and several grams of suspected heroin. She’s now in the Richmond County Jail on trafficking and paraphernalia charges under a $100,000 secured bond, with the sheriff praising staff vigilance at the courthouse.
   

• Richmond County Sheriff's Office files attempted murder charges (richmondobserver.com) — A Richmond County man is jailed without bond after deputies in Rockingham charged him with two counts of attempted first-degree murder, accusing him of firing into an occupied vehicle. He’s set for an August 6 court appearance, and records show a prior domestic protective order violation but no state prison convictions, with all charges still to be proven in court.
