• Roundup: Gryphons win two doubles matches to top Northern Nash (reflector.com) — Rocky Mount High’s girls tennis team edged Northern Nash 5-4 in a tight Big East rematch, with key doubles wins under the lights in Red Oak. Several other Rocky Mount-area schools, including Rocky Mount Academy, Faith Christian, Southern Nash, and Nash Central, also saw significant results in tennis, volleyball, and boys soccer that shift conference standings for local athletes.
   

• Man found dead along I-95 in Nash County after tractor-trailer collision near Dortches: Trooper (cbs17.com) — A 56-year-old man was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer Friday morning on northbound I-95, about four miles northwest of Rocky Mount between the Dortches exit and the Nash County Rest Area. The truck driver stopped and cooperated, part of the interstate was temporarily closed, and the Nash County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate while the victim’s identity has not yet been released.
