• South Hill traffic project on hold as council weighs opposition (sovanow.com) — South Hill Town Council has hit pause on funding a controversial VDOT redesign of the Country Lane/Route 58 (E. Atlantic Street) intersection by delaying a $575,761 payment until October. The move follows strong pushback from residents and trucking businesses worried about truck access, backups, and safety if left turns are eliminated and U‑turns added. The delay forces new talks with VDOT and a legal review of the town’s obligations.
