1. Press Release: New Community Paramedic for HOPE (rowancountync.gov) — Rowan County Public Health and EMS in Salisbury have added community paramedic Zackery Hamilton to the Post Overdose Response Team, expanding follow-up care after local overdose calls. Working directly in neighborhoods, he’ll offer Narcan, harm-reduction education, and connections to treatment and recovery services, aiming to reduce overdose deaths and strengthen long-term support for Salisbury and Rowan County residents.

2. Preview: Salisbury to consider Henderson Grove Church data center rezoning (salisburypost.com) — Salisbury residents should know that City Council will hold a public hearing Oct. 6 on rezoning more than 95 acres on Henderson Grove Church Road for a Trammell Crow data storage facility. After environmental concerns at the Planning Board, the city worked with the developer to add more tree cover, and council will now decide whether to approve the conditional district rezoning.

High school girls tennis: Hornets win another championship (salisburypost.com) — Salisbury High’s girls tennis team just wrapped up another dominant season, going 14-0 in conference play and securing a 24th straight league championship. With a young, six-player roster led by juniors Gabbi Fatovic and Anna Kate Goodman, the Hornets carry a 90-match conference winning streak into 2027 and now turn their attention to dual-team playoffs and individual pre-regionals.
