• NOTICE Pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143-129(g), notice is hereby given that (the-dispatch.com) — Thomasville officials plan to piggyback on a Columbia-awarded contract for cleaning and inspecting 8- and 12-inch sanitary sewer lines, and the City Council will vote on it October 19 at 6 p.m. at the Aquatic & Community Center. Residents aren’t being asked for alternative bids, but can contact the city’s purchasing officer with questions about the planned sewer work. 
• Seven people arrested following months-long Davidson County cybertip investigation (abc45.com) — Davidson County investigators, assisted by the Thomasville Police Department’s Special Response Team, executed an October 1 search warrant that led to seven arrests on child endangerment and animal cruelty-related charges. All suspects are being held in the county detention center with varying bonds, and the case remains active as authorities seek additional information from the public.
