• Dove Field Drive washout repairs expected to be completed by end of September (wwaytv3.com) — Dove Field Drive, a busy cut-through between Ogden and Murrayville, remains closed after August flooding washed out part of the road, but NCDOT expects repairs to finish by the end of September, weather permitting. Crews will install a custom-built, larger pipe under the roadway and adjust utilities before reopening this key Wilmington-area connection.
   

• Study shows how Wilmington apartments compare in size with other cities (starnewsonline.com subscription) — If you rent or plan to rent in Wilmington, new data shows your apartment is likely roomier than in most major U.S. cities, averaging 1,014 square feet in 2025. Despite a shift toward more one-bedroom units and fewer three-bedrooms, Wilmington still ranks eighth nationally for new apartment size and second in North Carolina, just behind Greensboro.
