Anyone receiving such a letter is urged to call the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office.
2. As Pell grants expand, students see openings to afford short-term job training (sentinelcolorado.com) — Students at Forsyth Technical Community College in Winston-Salem could soon tap new federal Workforce Pell grants to help cover short-term job training like certified nursing assistant programs. The expansion would ease costs for local students juggling work, fees, and supplies, but rollout will be gradual as programs meet strict completion and job-placement requirements. Local residents considering quick career training may see new financial options emerge.
3. Winston-Salem man sentenced to over 2 decades after kidnapping gas station clerk during robbery (myfox8.com) — A Winston-Salem man has been sentenced to more than 25 years in prison after kidnapping a Speedway gas station clerk at gunpoint from University Parkway and driving her into Tennessee.
