• Buncombe County moving forward on Woodfin greenway and is looking at alternative for Enka path (wunc.org) — Woodfin residents can expect 4.7 miles of new greenway along the French Broad River and Beaverdam Creek, with construction easements starting soon and completion targeted for summer 2029. The county–town agreement means Woodfin will ultimately own and maintain the paths and add amenities like restrooms at Silver-Line Park and Taylor’s Wave at Riverside Park, while officials also rethink a separate Enka trail route. 
• Board of Commissioners Recap: Aug. 4, 2026 (einpresswire.com) — Buncombe County commissioners just advanced Woodfin’s riverfront greenways by updating their interlocal agreement so the County builds the paths and then hands ownership and maintenance to the Town of Woodfin. They also secured grant funding for new ADA-accessible river launches and backed an Enka-area factory expansion, signaling broader regional investment that will benefit nearby communities, including Woodfin.
