Grindflicks makes return at Bomb Shelter (hpr1.com) — A long-running cult-movie series is returning to Fargo with a free "Total Action Cinema" night in the Bomb Shelter beneath The Northern Cabaret on Friday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. Organizer and longtime Fargo resident Randal Black promises mystery cheesy action films, trailers, and a social, bar-style atmosphere aimed at rebuilding the city's offbeat movie community after a pandemic pause.
   

2. Prep highlights: Sierra Reinke's 12 kills helps Fargo Davies to volleyball win (inforum.com) — Fargo high school teams packed in big performances Tuesday night, with Fargo Davies volleyball topping Fargo North behind standout kill and assist totals, plus West Fargo Sheyenne sweeping Fargo Shanley. Soccer fans also saw Fargo Shanley edge Grand Forks Central and West Fargo Sheyenne defeat Fargo Davies, with several local players racking up goals, digs, and saves.
   

3. September 22: Crossing the Red River (prairiepublic.org) — Today's Dakota Datebook looks back at how a tiny railroad camp called Centralia became the city of Fargo, thanks to an 1871 telegram honoring railroad backer William G. Fargo. It traces the merger of riverbank and prairie settlements, the naming of Fargo as Cass County seat, and the city's first elections and government in the 1870s.
   

4. Man charged after assaulting hospital staff following West Fargo police standoff (valleynewslive.com) — A West Fargo man faces felony and misdemeanor charges after police say a late-night confrontation with West Fargo officers led to him being tased, taken to Essentia Hospital in Fargo, and later accused of assaulting hospital security staff. Court records in Cass County detail allegations of kicking and spitting at guards while on a medical hold.
   

5. Veterans greeted at Hector International Airport after Honor Flight (valleynewslive.com) — Fargo residents packed Hector International Airport Tuesday night to welcome home more than 200 veterans returning from an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. Families described emotional moments as Korean War veteran Dale Erickson and others visited national memorials, then were surprised by a large, cheering crowd when they arrived back in Fargo.
